The New MacBook Pro Is Hard to Fault, but the Timing Is Tricky

Deciding when to buy a laptop is hard right now, and the new MacBook Pro does not make that decision easier. What it does do is deliver where it counts. The reviewer describes the display as the best laptop screen they have used, a claim that will matter to anyone who spends long hours on a machine for work, editing or video.

The build and overall quality also appear to live up to the Pro name. Hardware that feels this solid tends to hold its value and last for years, which is a strong argument for buying a premium machine rather than a budget one.

The catch is timing. The review suggests there may be good reasons to wait, and laptop lineups change on a regular cycle, so a new model can arrive soon after you buy. If your current laptop still works, holding off until the market settles is a reasonable choice. If you need a machine now, this one is unlikely to disappoint on quality.
